New Blog is Now Live!

Hello everyone, you may have noticed a little change.

I have been holed up at Chateaux Anke for ages creating this new look you see before you. It's taken around 100 hours of work over the past three weeks which is why I haven't added any posts recently. I hope you think it is worth it.

I have also added some new features to the blog which I hope makes navigating the years of posts much easier.

I would love to know what you think and also if you run across any niggles and things I may have missed. If you find anything wrong or the blog looks odd on your particular browser please drop me an e-mail.

I would like to thanks Jez for his assistance in the coding and for answering my hundreds of silly questions at all times of the day and night. I would also like to thank Mike and Dave for testing the blog.

Hey, well interesting. I loved the old 'site' particularly the strap. A new change always gets a bit of getting used to so lets give it a try.

Best of luck.

John

PS Ive just bought an iphone. Daft question, but as a luddite...well a late adopter, is there a quick link for the blog?

Thanks, Craig :) Nice to hear from you, thanks for reading the blog and taking the time to comment.

I think it's clean and simple. I wouldn't change anything. I also visit now and again and find it always very interesting. Nice !

Thanks for your comments, Scott, they are very welcome. I knew that the redesign would divide opinion, hopefully after a few weeks people will get used to it, if not there may be another slight refresh. I think the colour for the link tags is a nice idea, one for the to do list.
As for the polaroids, they arent stretched :) they are not actually polaroids they are a new format called Instax which are more portrait than polaroid used to be :)

Thanks again for reading the blog and taking the time to leave a comment. Much appreciated

Well done on the blog refresh - I read your blog every couple of days and I find the stories really interesting and your photography is always great.

As for the redesign, I'm not completely convinced about having a sidebar that has 2 columns, as the blog doesn't seem to have a main focus area anymore.

I also think that you should introduce a colour for your link tags as it's quite hard to scan the story quickly. One last picky thing...the Polaroid frames under the header bar look quite stretched and not the correct proportion.

Thanks, Anne, I have now made the font the standard Arial as Windows users were struggling to read the Serif fonts.

Congratulations on the fresh new look. I feel the font is modern but much harder to scan read. I know it's the style of the font but the lower case 'w' is rather odd and looks chewed away!
